POEM BOOTH DESIGN CONTEST The POEM BOOTH Board is looking for an artist in Whatcom County (including students) to submit their designs for the POEM BOOTH, a converted poem booth on Forest Street side of the Community Food Co-op in downtown Bellingham. This public art project puts local poets’ work into the community.
CASH AWARD of $100 for the winning design!
Submission Guidelines: Artists should visit the POEM BOOTH website to familiarize themselves with its history and gain an understanding of the project.
Designs should be appropriate for all ages as this is a public venue.
Proposals will be judged on the following criteria: Design, Durability, and Ease of Clean Up (clean up from graffiti and road pollution).
Please send design proposal, a portfolio including three images of your current work (all media welcome) and a statement of no more than 300 words describing your POEM BOOTH design.
The winning artist will be required to implement their design during July/August and clean up the site of materials once the implementation is complete. Winning artist’s work will be featured in local media, on social media, and on the POEM BOOTH website.
